Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Court Summon/Collections

I have a store credit card in collections in the amount of about $800. I could not respond to the letters as I wasn't able to pay yet. A few days ago I had a policeman come to my home to hand me a Summon to court. I really don't want to go, so I borrowed the money for the 1st payment and paid to collection agency. I have 2 more payments to make during 2 month period. When I asked them if the court date will be dismissed they told me they can't give any legal advice and that its up to me if I want to go or not. My court date is in 2 days...What do I do? Should I still go to court even though I made the 1st payment? Or do I ignore it?
