Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
court summons
I got a court summons for a small claims court concerning a credit card debt. Can I contact them to set up a payment arangement or do I have to wait for the court date?

You can give it a try, but I would imagine now that it has gone as far as filing suit, they are going to want to have a judgment entered against you. And of course, you can set up payment arrangements as part of the court order to prevent garnishment of your wages. Never hurts to try though.
