Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

If a cousin asked my daughter to help her sister baby sit 3 children, and in exchange he would pay her but instead of giving her the money he would pay for her school, and on his own on his name no documents signed, but my daughter changed her mind about staying at his house, and I asked him to cancel the phone because I couldn't pay for it, can he legally make me pay everything back now that my daughter is at home with me?, she was 17 at the time in the state of Illinois, she's 18 now.
