Credit card debt
i have let a credit card go due to financial reasons and it has been sent to a collection company, now they say they are going to send it to an attorney, can this be done and if so what is would the outcome be once the attorneys have received.

Of course they can refer it to an attorney. The attorney will probably send you a nastigram, which darn well better comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, then he or she will probably sue you. If you have any defenses, you will need to present those at the trial. If you ignore the court documents you receive, a default judgment will be entered against you.
