Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Credit card dept

I had taken care of my former Husband up untill his death, now his credit card company is trying to come after me for his dept, He did uss this card for food ,gas, and a few other things, saying he is the man of the family and should and will take care of his family until he could not do so. I so tired of the calls the letters and all this garbage I now have to out up with,,, This man had nothing, a 20 yea old car with over 180, 000 miles on it that his dughter now uses,, but other then that he even left his body to science so there would be no burial expeneces... how can I stop this insantity...He and I devored over 15 years ago but I was all he had beside his daughter who may I say lives with me... PLEASE HELP

It also helps to tell them the man is dead. If you are going to send letters to these companies, you may as well include a copy of the death certificate as well. Since there are no assets there really is no way for these companies to

Tell them not to call you anymore. Get their name and address and send them a certified letter telling them not to call you anymore.
