Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Credit card enforcement policies

Can a lender send a minority's account to collection before they do the same for a non-minority person if they are both deliquent during the same timeframe? Basically, can they legally give a non-minority person more time to pay and not give that same amount of time to a minority person?

Re: Credit card enforcement policies

Well, I have never seen any case law that says othrerwise so the answer is yes. The creditor can do what they want as long as it does not conflict with state/federal collection laws.

There could be many reasons why one account was refered before the the other. Bottom line is that a debt is owed and the debt needs to be paid.
