Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
credit/identity theft
My parents have taken out multiple credit cards in my name. This has been going on for ~10 years. I recently discovered this based on my credit report. After many fruitless discussions with them, I have realized that they feel that this is ok as long as they pay the minimum balances. The large debts that they have accumulated using my name (and SS#) have affected my credit score and hindered my ability to get credit. What can be done in this situation? Are there any cases that set the precidence for parents who exploit children for credit cards? Thanks.

Re: credit/identity theft
I suppose you could sue your parents for fraud.
