Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
I have been with my current car lona company for nearly two years. About 6 to 7 months ago I noticed the car loan company reporting the car loan behind and deliquent on my credit report. When contacting the company that requested documents. My bank has sent the documents requested showing that the payments have been made and deducted from my account along with other requested documents. We have been following up with the company continuosly. Just earlier this week the car loan company was contacted for a status and they said that things were moving the right direction and errors were being corrected in the payment reporting. Today they repossed the car. When I contacted the car loan company the only reason given for this action was, "the car was unsecure". What can I do legally because they have damaged my credit and took a car that was not behind on payments?
