Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
I have been dealing with a creditor on and off since 2005 where as through different employers wage garnishments have taken place to satisfy a judgement entered against me. I have been unemployed since 2011 and payments stops when I lost my job. A few weeks ago this creditor froze my bank account. I went to court and was issued a dismissal of Third Party Citation of assets. The attorney was very rude and didn't answer any questions just said to take the letter to the bank and have the freeze lifted. My question is, is this case over with and they will no longer try to get the remaining balance, since they realized I have no assets to take? Or do I have to be concerned with them trying to garnish my pay in the event I find employment?

There is no way to guess what they will do, but I would think it is unlikely that they will give up until the entire amount is paid.
