Can a debt collector call you at work and give you a number to call saying you have a court summons?

Did the debt collector divulge any information to anyone else by calling you at work? Did you tell them not to call you at work? If no to these questions, then this particular action does not appear to violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. However, you should discuss the details of your situation with an attorney, since there may be a violation committed by the debt collector.
