Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
Debt Settlement
I have $25,000 in debt that I am working to get settled. One of my creditors is Bank of America. I just found out that Bank of America will be taking over my mortgage from Countrywide. My payments on my mortgage are always current. Is Bank of America able to take my house from me?

Re: Debt Settlement
No, if you are always current on your mortgage payments then Bank of America would not have a basis for taking your home from you as you are not in default of your mortgage terms. Do you need an attorney? This answer does not constitute legal advice because you are not as yet my client.
