Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
my ex-boyfriend is suing me in small claims court. i was served with court summons day before i was to appear in court ( 24-1/2hrs before court). both of us live in same county but i had to appear in a different county than we live in. when i appeared my ex's lawyer along w/myself asked for a continuance since i had only been served day before. is this legal???

Based on the facts presented, the lawsuit is in the wrong county. However, if you do not object,
the case can be heard there.
