freelance artist trying to get paid

I'm a freelance artist who is working as a third party vendor and producing several art projects for a large corporation. the design company (middle man) is the one my contract is with and they are taking an inordinate amount of time to pay for my services. Over 4 months. Is there a legal limit on the length of time I should wait for payment.

What does the contract say about payment. Sometimes slow pay leads to "no" pay. You need to do something right away.
