Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I gave a friend of mine a loan of $3000 I have a note stating that the $3000 was a loan and that payment would be made in February. They then called me to state that they did not receive their severance from work and would call me when they received this and pay me back. To date I have not received an money from them - what are my options????? The person lives in Oklahoma and I live in Illinois

Three options: Let it go, ask for payment, or sue the person. A lawsuit probably would need to be filed in Oklahoma. This may have a detrimental affect on your friendship.
