Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
Hello,
I purchased photography from a Chicago Talent Agency and never received my photos as promised nor any calls for casting. The company is doing this to other people and not responding via phone or email or in person (it is all over Yelp). It is obviously a work scam, in which the FTC is currently cracking down on. I have alerted my bank which is Harris Bank. They refuse to offer a chargeback, even though my card was put through as a credit card with the Mastercard logo within the timeframe of 60 days the limitation to report a dispute. They claim just because the receipt I received is stamped NO Refunds they will not. I argue that means nothing since I never received the goods I purchased. The photography I purchased has never been given to me. I paid the merchant in good faith and did not receive the product as promised. What can I do? I am already pursuing the merchant via the State's Attorney and BBB. But I would like to recoup my money paid for the photography. I do not belive Harris Bank is following protocols of the Fair Credit Act. As it does state that any debit card or credit card with the Mastercard logo ...entitles the card holder to zero liability over $50.00.

You may want to get together with other victims of this scam to approach a lawyer to undertake a class action against the business entity for fraud. Document your case with any advertising for the audition, casting call etc and any other written document you may have.
