house lien

I have a furnace contractor saying that he has a lien on my house. I rec'd some time back some paperwork that he had the intention to place a lien, but never recd anything more. How do I find out if there is one or not?

you need a title search. If it shows a lien, the lien is valid within 2 years of the date of filing. The rules are quite technical as to whether or not it is a valid lien.

If it is a valid lien you can cause him to prove up his lien.
