Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

what can I do?

My husband Left for the Military in Aug 1999, while he was in training his brother took his car and had an accident. there is now a judgement on our credit for the accident and we would like to know what we can do about it? His brother is more than willing to take resposibility for the cost but how do we go about this? please help.....Thanks

I do not know when the judgment was entered but it appears from your email that is was more then 30 days ago. If that is the case then you or the responsible person needs to contact the attorney who file suit against you and enter into a payment plan to pay the judgment. That is the only way you are going to clear this judgment off of your record.
