Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

In Illinois is it legal for ADT Security to hold you a contract for a home that you no longer own? They have sent me to a collection agency that is owned by themselves.

Yes, the contract is with you, not the home. You could have agreed with the new owner to take over the payments.
