Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

After a judgement has been given, how do you ever end the payments?

I had a judegement against me for 5700., as of Dec. 2005 I had been garnished through payroll for 5900. When I asked regarding when the garnishent would stop I was told when they hear from the garnishing company. I called that company and was told the the judgement hadn't been met yet, that there were court costs added to it and a 1% interest for unpaid amounts daily. My understanding was that once a judgement was ruled that was the amount that was to be paid. Can they still add interest and costs etc to it? As of this date I have now paid them $6303.64 for the 5700. judgement against me.

Yes, generally costs are added to the judgment amount and interest continues to accrue until it is paid in full. You would need to look at the original judgment to be sure this is the case for your situation.
