Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

late fee

I received a bill for services not disputed. The bill was in a plain white envelope and there was no remit to address. The company is not listed in the phone book and has no staff to answer the phone. I paid the original bill in person after the date due, but do I have to pay a late fee that has been added now? Original bill was $14.00, late fee is $50.00. They have since added a remit to address on their invoices.

Re: late fee

Was there anything in a written agreement or on the bill indicating that you would be responsible for a late fee if it wasn't paid by the due date?
