lawsuit-if u do not appear on court date , are u found in default and what is th

i live in illinois (peoria) and was served papers for civil court matter , plaintiff is alledging that i owe 150.00 , my job will not allow me to take time off for this matter do to the fact that i do not have enough time in w / company , what should i expect , note * this person is an individual not a company .

If you do not appear a default judgment will probably be entered agains you. You could attempt to ask for a continuance until such time you can appear. However, even for an appearance you will still have to appear or have your attorney appear. For $150.00 you would probably far exceed that amount in attorney costs.

Even after a default judgment is entered the plaintiff would still have to get an order on that judgment to require you to pay.
