Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
Is there a letter that I can have notarized to show my husband is my representative in a court hearing?
I am unable to attend (due to a debilitating illness and home confinement) a court hearing for a balance due on a credit card. My husband is willing to be my representative (proxy). The credit card is in my name only and he has no involvement in the financial dealing with the case. He would be there solely to hear the complaint and the planned actions to be taken. He will be carrying a letter from my physician explaining my inability to attend.

Only if your husband is an attorney at law can he represent you in court.
