i live in il i loaned a friend money back in july she gave colladeral but has never attemped to repay how long must i keep colladeralbefore i can sell it

What kind of collateral - is it titled? Did the friend sign the title? Conserbatively it is best to have a judgment against her before you sell the collateral.
