how long does it take for a judgement to get off your credit report

It depends. An erroneous judgment or a judgment once valid but later vacated can be removed by your written request to the credit bureaus. A judgment itself has a life expectancy of seven years from the date of judgment. Therefore, if more than seven years have elapsed and no motion to renew the judgment has been filed, you should similarly write to the credit bureaus and have the stale judgment removed.
