Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I had a medical bill at a hospital and a 12 year old judgement has shown on my credit. I called the hospital and they have no balance and the judgement is from the attorneys how can I take care of this as statue of limitations

A statute of limitations limits how long someone has to sue you. If your medical bill was based on a written instrument (which it probably was), they would have ten years to sue you. If they sued you two and a half years ago, that would be within the statute of limitations. This judgment would then legitimately appear on your credit report. You would need to contact the lawfirm which brought the lawsuit against you to resolve this.

Unless the judgment is revived it is no longer enforceable. It should be off your credit.
