Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I moved from IL to Kansas a few months ago and received a motion to dismiss without prejudice letter. It was about a debt, but this is the 1st thing I have received.

Why would they motion to dismiss?

Do I have to go back to IL for the case?

I heard I should motion to dismiss with prejudice, but could that backfire?

It is not a letter - it is a motion - they can dismiss there case at any time prior to the trial date
