Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Non-Wager Garnishments

I need to know about the exemption for the non-wager garnishment called the wild card so this person can not touch 2000 of my assests, which is my bank account and all the assets I own. What form do I use if I can claim this and is there any special wording I need to use.

Thank you.

Re: Non-Wager Garnishments

There is no form. You need to appear in court on the date stated in the Bank Citation/Citation Notice form and step up to the judge when your case is called and tell the judge you are claiming your $2,000 exemption. If you faile to appear before the court the a turnover order will be issued for the funds.
