Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I owe my electric company some money. They took me to court over it and I signed some papers saying I would pay. The man representing the collection company told me to call the 800 number and tell them that I was planning on paying it off with my taxes and that they would probably ask me to pay 20 dollars a month until tax time. So I called the number and told them about wanting to pay with my taxes and I did send them 20 dollars so far but they are trying to take the money directly out of my work pay checks. Can they do that even though i am paying them? What can I do?

If they have a judgment against you, they are entitled to enforce it any way they can, unless there is a court order for installment payments. You have not indicated that there is any installment order. Thus they can serve a wage deduction summons on your employer and take 15% of you wages.
