Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I was co owner of a vehicle that has been repossessed and sold in an auction. I have received notice recently that they now want to garnish my wages for the full amount of the vehicle plus interest. What can I do so they will seek this debt from the primary owner and not garnish my wages?

There is nothing you can do to force them to collect from the other owner if you were a co-signer on the debt. You would need to get the money from the other owner.
