Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

If a person is more than 90 days past due on a car loan and one of the loan officers said the car was not going to be repossessed and then the repo man shows up at your door and you have loaned the car out to a friend or relative for a week, what will happen to that person that the car belongs too. Arrangements have been made to get a payment in on the first of the month and then another on the 8th.

If you told the repo man to contact the loan officer at the time of the attempted repossession, the repo man may have had the authority to call to verify. Otherwise, if you were honest and told them where the car was, you should probably tell the friend/relative before they walk out the door and find the car gone.......?
