Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
I rec'd a summons from a creditor. I don't have $178 to submit with my written answer.
Can I just write them and state that I only live in a small mobile home and only have social security money to live on? I also have a car 2000 Chevy. $200 in the bank.
Thanks

If all you live on is social security, then you are probably below the poverty level to file as indigent and get fee waived. Explain to judge that you live om social security only and the case will most likely be dismissed for you being judgment proof. Unless you have any assets they can put a lien against like if the mobile home is paid off.
