Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I have a been served an Alias Summons from a long past due credit card. It is saying I need to go to court (I can not afford to do this) Can I call the Lawyers who were secured by the company for the judgment and work out a deal to pay without going to court? Should I call the CC company and see if I can work something out- I can not pay it all but can pay some and pay monthly- I know I need to pay it but can not afford to do all now and the totak judgement is for $1675.25- Long story

File bankruptcy, or call attorney for plaintiff and work out payment plan (will probably not take less than 15% of your gross pay), or hire attorney to fight in court for you. Also, if you do not make a lot of money you may check into being judgement proof, which can be told to judge at citation for assets and will stop any judgment from being imposed.
