Re: small claim

If they sue you and win, they will probably try garnish your wages. The first $231.75 per week is exempt. This means that you are entitled to keep the first $231.75 of income you earn per week. The judgment creditor can ask for a wage deduction of any amount over your net pay of $231.75 up to a maximum of 15% of your total pay before taxes Since you state you make only $150 per week, they probably will not be able to garnish any of your wages. They could also try to garnish any money you have in bank accounts, etc.
