Not sure to what bills you are referring, who "they" are, and what this all has to do with selling your home. However, there is no debtor's prison. You cannot go to jail simply for not paying bills. If you owe money, the creditor can sue you. Whether the lawsuit is successful depends on whether the creditor can prove to the court you owe the money.
