statute of limations

I was just told i owed money on a old closed checking account from1988 at a credit union I six months ago open a account with them not knowing this I also Filed bankruptcy in1995 do I have to pay them?

Even if the debt was not listed on the bankruptcy it is arguably discharged, especially if your bankruptcy was a no asset chapter 7 case in which they would not have received payment anyway.

Depends. Did you list the debt on the bankruptcy? If so you probably don't owe it. The statute of Limitations is ten years from the last date you made a payment.
