My brother and I had a joint account with Home Depot in which he used all the time and I never did. He was late on his payments and was affectinh my credit. I had to pay off the amount of $7,000 to avoid credit damage to me. Now he doesn't want to pay me, can I file a claim against him?

Sure you could sue him, and how are you going to collect a judgment if a judge rules in your favor? What assets or job does he have? Are you willing to pay for an attorney and court costs? This answer does not constitute legal advice because you are not as yet my client.
