Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

hello I was being sued and trying to get garnished by a collection agency but I looked it up and it said garnishee defendant dismissed the amount was for 1200.00 but when I called the collection agency they said I still owe them

It's hard to say what happened with that suit without knowing specifically what was dismissed and why.

The case could of been dismissed for a number of reasons like no service, or improper pleadings. If you owed the money the way to get out of it is file bankruptcy or settle with them.
