Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
I have been summoned to court for bills that are 15 years old and have gone threw 3 or 4 collectors. I am certain that I had made deal with collectors to pay balance at a negotiated price. What rights do I have or what right do they have to come after me after so many years and so many different banks/collectors?

The collection agency do have the right to hire an attorney to represent them. You can notify them not to contact you at work or at all and they must stop contact. We cannot address whether they can pursue the claim or whether the statue of limitations would be a defense to the claim.
The collection company would be acting as an agent of the creditor unless the company purchased the debt in which case they would be acting in their own name. Yes, they can make reports for creditor as their agent
