Summons for Credit Card Debt

A summons to appear for a past due credit card was delivered to my parents home in Illinois.I have not been a resident of Illinois for 8 years(living in Texas)and the credit card I'm being sued for was opened in Texas. What should I do to answer this summons as I cannot travel to Illinois to appear in person? Also, the statute of limitations has expired for this debt under Texas statutes.

You need to hire an attorney in Illinois to make the appropriate filings for you in Court in Illinois.
