Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Summons. I want to pay of debt but not sure what to ask for.

Hi, I received a summons for a medical bill and I filed an apperance with the county. I want to pay of debt before the set court date. Once I go to the plaintiffs attorney and pay in full is there a document I should get that states that the case is dismissed. I Don't know what I should ask from the plaintiff attorney besides a receipt.

1. The question is what to ask the plantiff's attorney for when I go in with a full payment?

2.Once debt is paid in full, do I still need to appear on my set court date?

3. By paying debt in full prior to the court date, is there a possibility that a judgement can still be placed agaist me?

It's nice to know that there are truly good hearted attorneys that try to help. Thanks ahead for any help!!!!

If you pay the debt in full before the court date then you should ask the attorney for an order dismissing the case with prejudice. Please note that the court date may be continued by the attorney so that he can check with the client to make sure the check has cleared. You should appear on the court date to make sure no surprises pop up.
