Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Summons

I was served a summons (for credit card debt). I have debt negoiators however they are in PA. I live in ILL.

They are making an offer. If accepted does the lawsuit go away.

What do I have to do about the summons ?

Re: Summons

The lawsuit "goes away" only if it is dismissed. Even if you enter into an agreement with the creditor, the lawsuit needs to be dismissed. Regarding the summons, you need to appear in court at the date and time indicated. If you do not, a default judgment will be entered against you.
