Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Is a surviving spouse responsible for her husband's credit card debt....the account was not a joint account. The state is Illinois

If the account was not joint, you could run it through probate and settle it with his assets. But his estate does have the responsibility for settling his debts.
