trail for credit card debt

I am being sued for a 1,500 on a credit card went to court and i asked for a trial went to trial the other side did not show up the judge dismissed the case but said that they still can come after me for the money how can that be? now what happens next?

What happens next depends on the plaintiff. They may do nothing, or they may continue to pursue their claim. If you receive notice of any hearings, make sure you appear. I would also suggest checking every two or three weeks to make sure nothing has been filed in your case. Most counties have online access for this. While I am not suggesting that plaintiff's attorneys would do anything fraudulent, let's just say sometimes they "forget" to send notice to defendants of upcoming hearings.
