Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

My wife and I are being sued buy a debt collection agency for medical debt. The lawyer we went to see said it would cost to much to hire him and we would not win the case. We call the debt collector put a down payment and worked out a payment plan, but the debt collector said not to show up to court. I don't know if they can say this can they? I know if you don't show a judgmet can be entered.

You need to show up for court. A default judgment will be entered against you otherwise, and it more than likely will not be the same as your agreement. I would suggest trying to find another attorney.
