Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I'm wondering if I should opt out of a class action suit, or stay with the lead plantiffs?

The case is against a collection agency(s) for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practicies Act, 15. U.S.C. | 1692 et seq("FDCPA") and the Illinois Collection Agency Act ("ICAA") by filing lawsuits or threatening to file lawsuits against us on credit card debts that were barred by the five year statute of limitations.

Like most class action lawsuits, they cost you nothing to participate, and as many, many people participate, it usually is not something picked up by a credit reporting agency. And in the end you get very little back -- attorney fees and court costs eat up a lot and it's usually the lead plaintiffs that collect any significant damages. But it's up to you. If you feel you were treated fairly and maybe even still have a credit card with the company being sued, it's your decision.
