Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
I am 17 and received an underage drinking ticket in Will County and was given an order to appear in court. went to court and was then ordered to take 2 drug tests and drug counseling, and appear again. I had failed the two tests with a positive THC result. The judge then gave me an additional drug test and said if I wee to fail this one I would be held in contempt of court and sent to jail for 6 months. I have just taken the test today and am almost positive that i will pass, however I am wondering I am really facing jail time pending a positive result as it seems a little harsh. Was the judge just trying to scare me or is that really a possibility? And if it isn't what kind of punishment would i really receive?

Yes, you likely could be sent to jail for a failed 3rd test.
The only way to know for sure is to continue to ignore the court's sentence and fail another drug test. My experience is that when a court says something, the court is not bluffing.
My advice is to stop wasting your time and talents by using illegal drugs and obey the court's sentence.
