Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Hi I am a 23 year old female who has never been in trouble with the law before. I recently got arrested for retail theft under $150. I am just wondering exactly what will happen? I've been stressing out since it happened. I really am curious as to how much this effects my background check for jobs and also if it will inhabit me from moving out of state next month.

I would take this charge seriously.
It may very well effect your employment prospects in the future because employers are wary of hiring individuals who steal. They may not trust you.
I would recommend that you hire an attorney to fight theses charges.

You need to hire an attorney to represent you in this case. The attorney may be able to defend the charge or negotiate a plea bargain that would avoid a conviction being entered on your record. Depending upon your location and the location of the court in which you are charged, Imay be able to provide legal services to you myself. In any event, you should hire an attorney as soon as possible.
