Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
My 20 year old son went to jail and is being charged with 3 counts of domestic battery/physical contact which is a misdemeanor. He doesn't have a record and has never been to jail before. The judge set his bond at $15,000.00 .Bail is $1,500.00 He has a Public Defender . We can't afford a lawyer or bail to get him out. How can he get out on his own recognizance? He been in for almost a week.
