Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
About 3 years ago i was arrested on shoplifting charges (but not convicted) and when police searched my car they found an empty gun case, so they asked me where was the gun and i told them that i left it at work, and then they went to get it, but did not charge me with anything. I know that there is a statue of limitations on felonies in Illinois (3 years i believe) so they can't charge me with anything any more, but i was wondering whether there is any chance I could get my gun back?, since it was pretty expensive.
