Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
My 16yr old granddaughter recently moved in to my house with her mother. She has a 22yr old boyfriend who the mother approves of. Are there any legal issues for me if I allow him in my house.

Yes. This is a big problem since your granddaughter is a minor and the 22 year old, by law, is a grown man. At 16 your granddaughter is not legally able to consent! I STRONGLY suggests that the 22 year old not be allowed to move into your home. Also, if he and your granddaughter have been intimate, that is statutory rape. I suggests that you seek counseling for your granddaughter and have a heart to heart talk with mom. You could be charged with wilful neglect, etc., if this situation is not properly handled!!
